On The Atonement Of Christ (1859)

On The Atonement Of Christ is a theological treatise written by Francois Turretini in 1859. The book explores the concept of atonement in Christianity, which refers to the reconciliation of humanity with God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Turretini examines various theories of atonement, including the satisfaction theory, which posits that Christ's death satisfied God's justice and appeased his wrath towards humanity's sinfulness. He also discusses the moral influence theory, which suggests that Christ's death serves as a moral example for believers to follow. Turretini argues for a nuanced understanding of atonement that takes into account both the legal and moral aspects of Christ's sacrifice. The book is written in a scholarly style and is intended for theologians, pastors, and students of theology. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
