Luke Notes from the Garden

A refreshing collection of 40 devotions about Jesus from the Gospel of Luke. Each entry is a summary of a chapter in everyday English and includes reflections and discussion prompts. May be read individually, as a Bible study, or book club. This book follows the order of the scriptures and looks at the relationships between the events, the parables, and the miracles of Jesus. Often, they go together, a story to illustrate the spiritual interpretation of a question or situation. Instead of taking the quotes out of context to fit our agenda, this reading calls us to shift our outlook to align with what Christ is telling us through his life and teaching.Working or retired adults, college students, and those looking to learn more about the scriptures will benefit from this fresh perspective. Written by a college professor-turned-stay-at-home mom, each section is especially tailored for people who want to read the Bible but get bogged down in the language, ancient setting, or confusing details. Each oddly specific person, place, or plant is explained. The tone is light and fun, so the reader will stay engaged long enough to connect with the topic.
