Higher Self

Higher Self by Dr. Gregor Hasler explores the healing power of psychedelics through real stories and cutting-edge research.

“More and more, we are able to forego immediate perception, which is often stressful and emotionally charged, in favor of a life led by concepts. The problem is that in doing so we surrender direct connection, and with it the fullness of life and the complexity of the world.”

So writes Gregor Hasler in his urgent and timely book, Higher Self. In its pages, Hasler explores how psychedelics can play a pivotal role in healing the far-too-common afflictions of our modern age—isolation, loneliness, mental illness, and disease—and help us reconnect to the fullness of life. How does perception impact our day-to-day health and happiness? How can we access simplicity, beauty, and joy in an increasingly online world? Based on decades of experience as a researcher and psychotherapist, Hasler offers poignant stories of his clients’ recovery that demonstrate the healing potential of psychedelics, while also addressing the complexities and pitfalls of the emerging “psychedelic renaissance.”

Higher Self: Psychedelics in Psychotherapy, is an accessible and wide-ranging book that will captivate scientists, therapists, everyday spiritual seekers, and the psychedelic-curious alike.
