Genie's Boy

Evil that lurks will never stay hidden for long...Genie had witnessed much over the tenuous centuries he'd roamed the earth. Blood, feast, famine, plagues. None of which affected him, yet by the same token, it had. If that made any sense...Lovers had come and gone just as master's had, but never had his heart been involved.Until now.Why fate chose this point in his life to grant another access to it would remain a mystery. The Maharajah's public execution of his parents, done as a warning to the commoners not to take money from his hand, left Raj to fend for himself at a young age. The meager loaf of bread his parents stole to feed their starving family was nowhere near the value of the lives he took that day. After that, Raj was shunned by the town. Never had he been so alone...Over the years, Raj never went without. Food, clothing, everything he required was always there, as if magicked. Cupboards once bare now filled to the brim. How could this be?Will Genie and Raj's forbidden relationship survive the Maharajah's greed, or will they meet the same fate as Raj's parents had for defying his tyrannical rule?***This story was originally published in the Twisted Pride 2024 Anthology.
