An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding

Delve into the foundations of human thought with David Hume's "Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding." A cornerstone of Western philosophy, this seminal work explores the limits and capabilities of human knowledge. Hume, along with L. A. Selby-Bigge, meticulously examines the principles that govern our understanding, questioning the nature of cause and effect, and the very basis of our beliefs.

This "Enquiry" offers a profound investigation into epistemology, the theory of knowledge itself. It challenges readers to critically assess their own perceptions and the sources of their understanding. Hume's sharp logic and insightful arguments continue to resonate with those seeking a deeper understanding of how we know what we know.

A foundational text in philosophy and a vital contribution to the study of knowledge, this carefully prepared edition allows readers to engage directly with Hume's enduring exploration of the human mind.<BR>This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.This work is in the public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations.
