Altshuller as I knew him

The book presents stories from the life of Genrikh Altshuller, the creator of the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ), who was also a notable science-fiction writer.

Altshuller recounted these stories to his former student and collaborator, Yevgeny Karasik, in the 1970s and 1980s. The book also tells stories about other people who assisted Altshuller in his quest to algorithmize inventive thinking, or who worked or interacted with him.

These stories are unique and have not been published elsewhere. There is no overlap between the material presented in Karasik's book and the material found in other biographies of Altshuller.

From these stories, a portrait of a complex and fascinating man emerges: a visionary with an independent mind and distinctive sense of humor, capable of adapting to any circumstances.

The book will appeal to people interested in TRIZ, its history, or the life of Genrikh Altshuller, one of the 20th century's most original thinkers.
