From Hans Christian Andersen Award nominee Linda Wolfsgruber, comes a stunning story of embracing one’s unique beauty and true self.

From high up, Moon gazes down from the night sky and envies the beautiful dresses worn by people on Earth. “How I would love to have a dress like that too,” thought the moon. Quickly, Moon invites the help from a confident, high-fashion tailor who promises to create a one-of-a-kind gown.

As the tailor takes Moon’s measurements and begins his work, he quickly discovers a problem: each time Moon returns for a fitting, its shape has changed! The moon wanes and waxes, shrinking to a thin crescent and then growing full again, making it impossible for the tailor’s dress to ever fit. He begins to wonder: could any dress he makes ever be as wonderful as the Moon’s own shiny light?

Through playful and poetic narrative and stunning illustrations by award-winning creator Linda Wolfsgruber, A Dress for the Moon is a whimsical story about the beauty of being oneself.
