Der objektive Geist

The objective mind: thinking art beyond taste, opinion, andchoice. The Objective Mind presents a sequence of precise aphoristic propositions on art, truth, law, and perception. With formal rigor and radical clarity, Nikolaus Gerszewski develops a conception of art that resists psychologization, relativism, and opinion. Art appears not as expression, commentary, or social function, but as an autonomous order governed by its own laws. The objective mind does not judge, explain, or mediate-it sees. The book understands art as a practice of attention, form, and non-decision. It opposes taste, consensus, and the demand that art be useful, relevant, or communicative. The Objective Mind is an uncompromisingreflection on art as a mode of thinking in its ownright.
