In the reading introduction, she explains unfamiliar characters, events, and cultural realities; draws out biblical-theological themes; and emphasizes how the chapters fit into the bigger story of redemptive history. She then lists key words and ideas to look for as you read, as well as encouragement in how to respond in prayer, personal examination, meditation, and worship. While Beholding Christ: A Daily Guide to Seeing Jesus in All of Scripture is designed to be a companion to whatever Bible you use, the ESV Beholding Christ Bible, which includes these instructive readings interspersed within the full ESV text, is also available.
